Announcing John and Hailey Kreideweis!

I am proud to announce John Mathew Kreideweis (5lbs 9.2 ounces - 18 1/2 inches - 1:13 pm) and Hailey Marie Kreideweis (5lbs 11.4 ounces - 18 3/4 inches - 1:15 pm) were born yesterday 3/10/2010! Mommy (Kim) had elevated blood pressure and was being treated and on bed rest yesterday and today (as of this post), but is getting better today and the doctor is hopeful she will be off the medication tonight. She was finally able to get some food though, so she is on the path to moving around again. See below for baby pics!

Mom and babies last night:

So far we have been doing okay, although there are times where I am completely stressed out and just trying my best to not hurt them. Practice makes perfect I guess, but I can't wait to be perfect. Grandparents have been pivotal in my keeping my sanity and making sure I am not taking care of everyone at once. I'm jealous of Grandma Kreideweis' skill at managing them so easily =P. Well, need to get back to the hospital and our new family!

Big News! Babies!

So Kim and I are going to be having TWINS in March/April! A Boy and a Girl! Don't believe me? See pics below. No, Kim and I are not planning on getting married before they are born (before anyone asks). A really big deal, and it's taken me a while to warm up to the idea of being a "Dad" but how can you resist when you see them moving around and can feel them kicking. Both of our parents know, was trying to think of the best way to tell everyone else, and I 'spose this is the easiest/best way, especially since some of ya'll have been cryin' lately. Was not planned AT ALL - Kim was on the pill and we were def. being careful, but in the words of Kim "Of course you would be the one to beat the odds" (which I take a bit of pride in =D). Will probably be tough early on, and undoubtedly life changing, but hey, what isn't. I'm kinda looking forward to have a little guy to take to TCU games and a little girl to, uh, take shopping? or whatever Dads do with little girls. =P Guess I'll find out!

Yea I know I've been MIA for a while, and yes I am playing WoW again with Kim's brother Warren (Windrunner if anyone is interested - Raiding Uld / ToC), but this is a big reason why I've been busy. Oh and I went to the TCU game on Saturday, which was f'ing awesome.

No, I am not playing Farmville or Cafe World. Kim is playing on my Facebook because she doesn't want her own account. So you douchebags can shut the f up about that now.

Hope this update was enough for the louder ones out there =D.

Welcome Home Kitty!

Matt and I are happy to announce the arrival of our new cat, Matty. She is a five years old, long hair, with green eyes. We adopted her from operation kindness, on sunday, where she was taken in about a month ago. She is possibly the sweetest cat I have ever met. She is very talktive, loves to meet new people and purrs really loudly when you pet her. Everyone is welcome to come by and see her ^_^

Matt Follow Up

Kim Posted most of what was up at GenCon, but heres my last little 'addendum'. First of all, heres a pic of the army I finished Wednesday night at 5 am (our flight was at noon Wednesday).

I played in both the 750 and 1k 40k tournaments and didn't do as well as I would have liked. I think in a lot of ways I really should have brought more troops and maybe 1 less vehicle. The 1k went better, I think because day 1 I faced several factions I'd never really played before and my target priority was pretty bad. The other thing I noticed is that my army had geat difficulty with 3+ armor saves outside of pummeling them with Dreads, which I hope is not so bad once I add termies and maybe get some Vindicators. I went 1-2-1 (w-l-d) in the 750 and 2-2 in the 1k, and I think all my losses were to 3+ armor saves and bad target priority. Oh well, experience is the best teacher I suppose. For what its worth, I think that Warhammer 40k is way more fun to play (even when you are losing) than most any game I have ever played. I had a great time despite my performance and my opponents were all pretty fun to play / talk to.

The other main thing I spent a lot of time doing (especially Thursday) was trying to find deals on 40k stuff, and found two booths that were selling it at like 20% off GW prices one of which had online 'ordering' (they aren't allowed to do it so they make you call them instead of using a website) and $6 flat shipping. In case you missed it, that means that if you order in the US the first item is = GW (with shipping) and everything else is 20% off. I won't be paying full price in the future =P. And Jim, I sent you their card - they sell bits too, which I figured you would be interested in, but they don't list shipping to Japan, so you will have to find out if its better for you. See below for the spoils from GC!

Yes, 2x Assualt Termies, 1x LRC, 2x Sniper Scouts and 1x Vanguard Vets (I like the models) and 1x Building for our home battlefield. Getting to 2k should be pretty painless!

We also bought some games. I got Dominion and the Expansion. More of a card game, but if you havent tried it you DEFINATELY should. TJ introduced us to it, and I think we are addicted. The great part is its not a CCG so no extra card binges =D. You basically build your deck and try to get VPs, really simple and really addicting. I think Kim and I have played like 5 times since we got home =D . Kim played this game called Pompeii which we got with her 50% off coupon. Its pretty fun. Imagine the historical city; you build up a population, then a Volcano erupts and you have to get your dudes out while trying to burn the other players' people alive. Sounds pretty sweet huh?

Other than that stuff I got sick Saturday (pretty sure I was Friday already and just ignored it) and spent Saturday being miserable, but not nearly as bad as Monday when I had to work sick. Feeling better now though =DDDD . I played some Magic and some other various board games and went to the Costume contest on Saturday with my beautiful Farseer <3

Pretty sweet huh? my elite Camera skillz.

GEN CON 2009

Well...where to start! It was another amazing year at Gen Con and everyone came back with different stories, games, and Best Of Moments. Here is brief highlight of the amazing things I did at Gen Con this year:

Wed: Flight out -boring- with a hour
connection in Kansas City (which is actually on the map in Missouri...weird huh?!) We get in, arrive at our hotel after hearing a really funny story from the cab driver about the one time he got lost. ^o^ Ate some dinner at P.F.Changs where Matt for the first time in our relationship refuses to tip do to the awful service. It was pretty bad...and wentto bed early.

THUR-FRI: This is where I loose Matt for most of the rest of the trip... I spend all my time at the May Fair Game Room playing: Settlers, Train game, Pompeii, and alot of various other board games. May Fair Games does this little event each year where you play the games, collect resources (ribbons) for playing that allow you to be Knighted, and highest achievement Defender. They throw in bonus stuff like free expansion packs and coupons. (50% OFF I couldn't resist ^_~ )

Matt and I meet up for the 40K tournaments at 6pm that lasted till 2am. I was way more prepared for the Friday tournament since by the end of Thursday I was tired, hungry and ready to just leave. The games were interesting and all had these crazy scenarios with them, some being 2-pages long, taking at least 15min to read thoroughly. Some helped your faction by adding special rules like we'll be back, or with out number others not so much. The thing I liked the most was where you would playing (All had 6 rounds, 15 points for win, 8 for draw and 4 for lost) and weather storms would hit or earthquakes. If a unit was not in cover it would take a Strength 6 AP 3 HIT *_* That's Nuts for orks, imperial guard, really anybody could loose a guy to this and vehicles would get stunned or worse immobilized. Some parts of the tournament were a little unprofessional like the sheets on sportsman ship were all kinds of confusing, they didn't check army list at all and a lot of players didn't have a copy of their list to give you. LAME but we had fun time. Thursday was 3-1 for me and Friday was 1-draw-2

SAT: Costume Contest Day!
Wake up...time for costume ^_^ The check-in was rather early and they ending up placing me in the sci-fi category instead of gaming since they thought sci-fi wasn't gonna fill and gaming was already filling. ANYWAY I didn't like being surround by super-heroes asking "what are you from?" drag...so I lost to this Captain Thor or whoever he was (it was lame too) and the other girl dressed in a Sisters of Battle costume won the gaming category... no fair... but hers was AWESOME. The overall winner was this AMAZING ice elemental that took her over a year1/2 to complete. The wings moved separtetly and everything! It was so cool!
